A leveling strategy for Characters in an early version of Path of Exile 2 at level 90 and above. I figured that the topic would come up sooner or later when the game is out and wanted create something to bump the thread with besides some one liner or a shit MS paint drawing. I think this place deserves some quality in contrary to some other hell holes. Please keep in mind that this guide is written with a certain comunity in mind. If you feel offended or don't find some jargon you don't understand, this guide was obviously pilfered from the website it was originally intended for and you are free to bully whoever has posted it elsewhere (which is often done for clout). While English is taught everywhere in the civilised world, localizing idioms, grammatical quirks of the learners native language or even writing spoken collequial English often isn't. This may also inevitably be reflected in this very guide. [1.0] The problem Long story short: The fucking game is depriving you of high level maps you used to have in the endgame of PoE 1. Thus diminishing returns set in waaaa~y earlier. Getting from 85 to 90 is a fucking slow process already. Get to 90 and each map rewards you with a semitic progress of around 2%. This is way too little reward for something GGG expects you to pull off in autistic perfection. If you are capable of mental arithmetic, you may have already figured out, that you have to finish at least 50 maps per level that take 10 minutes to finish. Not even plebbitors are that good at poop socking to pull it off in these conditions. [1.1] What is to do (about hair loss)? 💣 The more meta an item is or is believed by the hive mind of addicted apes to be, the more expensive it is. Prices for the complete equiptment of some build might be nuts. First check your build. If your progress comes to an screeching halt, it often indicates that there are some issues with the build. Thankfully the community was galaxy brained enough to develop PoE2 counterparts to some time tested third party tools as soon as they got the chance to examine the beta in person. They are called PathOfBuilding-PoE2 and PoE2.ninja and any addicted ape in the realm has them bookmarked or installed. - Path of Building 2: A build planer slapped together in LUA and called good. It is capable of importing your Character's skill tree, equiptment, dick size or tit size and also your character's hopes and dreams. Usage should be relatively straight forward as long you have some frontal lobe development and you are coming from a civilization that has discovered fire already. github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding-PoE2 - PoE2.ninja: At the moment just a huge collection of builds real players actually use ingame. Just click on your ascendary class in the league you are actually playing and can see what people more successful than you are using for their builds. https://poe2.ninja/ - PoE2wiki: I should also mention the honest to God official wiki before faggots who are dumb enough to trust google find themselves on the shit one that is managed by Fextra Life. poe2wiki.net Now that your build is fixed, you need a leveling strategy. [1.2] How not to die 💣 Don't die is not a viable leveling strategy. It all comes down to damage mitigation and how to use it. There 3 in the game plus chance to block, resistances, elemental ailment threshold and stun threshold. What your character can mainly use depends on the starting point of on the Skill tree and what stat you are stacking. Here's the general description of the main defence types. - Armour Is what Diablo 2 means by defence. Its the mitigation of raw physical damage before the red bauble on the left side of the screen becomes more transparent and ebin to look at. The higher the incoming damage the less mitigation is humanly possible. This is in general given to classes that rely on Strength. The assburger player base has even figured out the formulas for armour already. If you are curious about them, you can look them up on the wiki: https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Armour With armour stacked high, you can tank alot of stuff but not everything. Heavy Slams and ridiculous spells will still kill you. Surving this is way more involved and you should refer to your build guide if you have copied somebody else. Don't look at me. I haven't played many characters who stack Armour. - Evasion Evasion is what the games gives classes like Ranger or Huntress. The more evasion your have and the less accurate the enemy is, the more he has to flail at you before determinist entropy bites you in the ass and makes a hit occur. Evasion depends on multiple other some other factors like distance of the attacker from you, whether the attack is slam or regular melee attack or how bad the monster smells. Details are on the wiki: https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Evasion The secret to survival for Characters who stack that defense is: FUCKING MOVE! It was designed with the Ranger and the Assasin in mind who are supposed to jump all over the place instead of standing in one place like an idiot. This advice especially applies if you are using Wind Dancer. Sure the most popular gem Setups for it grant you an evasion buff. Deterministic entropy still applies however and you may quickly lose the stages you just have regenerated. So move your ass! - Energy shield Its blue, for mages and clerics and also considered plebbit and gay by the permanent residents 4cuck's PoE general. Energy shield is the most straight forward among the denfences. It works like these additional, differently colored healthbars in brawlers. Whenever the enemy whacks your waifu*, she loses a ton of energy shield. Keep her out of trouble for at least 3 seconds and it recharges. Since it is essentially a form of additional life, you need much, much more of it for good defence than n00bs assume one would. Also required for making Chaos Inoculation viable (This is why it is placed on the upper part of the skill tree). To survive, just stay away from the enemy. You are a usually a fucking mage if you have picked that. If you are monk concern yourself with movement and more evasion, because the energy shield granted by hybrid armour pieces is simply pathetic. Otherwise, stay away and nuke from afar or let your minions do the fighting for you while you support them. - Resistances Also known from Diablo 2. At least the elemental ones. They are also much moreimportant in PoE than in Diablo 2, because Grinding Gears found it pretty funny and original to slap you with diminishing resistances over the span of the campaign. I won't spill too much ink on it and instead point out that one of the first goals in the end game should have been pumping up all four of your resistances to their maximum 75%. More is better, because it makes some map modifiers like 15% less resistances irrelevant to your character. Among the four, Chaos resistance is very special. It governs how much damage over time from poison and actual chaos damage a character gonna eat. It is also the hardest one to max out. Popular method of maxing them out and saving money on expensive armour pieces and/or making unique armour pieces viable are number one having heaps of it on some jewelery and slapping charms on a belt to patch up any remaining gaps. - Ailment threshold and stun threshold: Govern how easily your character gets set on fire, frozen, shocked and in case of the latter one stunned. If you find yourself stunlocked into a coma very often, I recommend you to equip a stone charm. They grants you some immunity to stun. * Both available so far mage classes are chicks. [2.0] Setup Finally we come to the Setup of actual the leveling strat. It mainly involves a little thing called tower stacking. This means you will seek out a bunch of towers. Preferably around a corrupted region, liberate them and slam precursor tablets with enhanced experience gain on maps into them. [2.1] Shit you need 💣 I assume that you are rich enough, because you are at level 90. If that isn't the case you should farm some currency. Both versions of the atlas skill tree are enabling you to do that. Also deactivate the omens before you go farming. As you should have noticed, they are not cheap. First you need a hefty supply of WHYUTE tier 1 waystones and a even larger supply tier 15 waystones that don't have any crazy affixes. The more affixes a waystone has, the deadlier the map you gonna access will be. Please keep that in mind. For the T1 waystones, you als need some Orbs of Alchemy and a handful of exalted orbs. Second ingredient is a atlas tree that roughly looks like this: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/atlas-tree/t56mu046 Or maybe this: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/atlas-tree/gw6mb0jf No matter which one you choose, the nodes that are actually important are the ones that enhance the effects of precursor tablets in the upper section and the ones for more strongboxes in the lower left part of the Atlas tree. Next thing you should get are a bunch of Omen of Amelioration. The more you suck, the more you should obtain. Obviously. With a penalty of 5% deleveling for dying, they are an necessary evil. Expect to spend at least one Divine Orb on them. With these in your pocket, death is only controversial instead of rage inducing. [2.2] Preparing the atlas Now you are at least ready to get yourself a bunch of towers. Seek out a region that has a patch of corrupted maps. They are easier to find than ever since GGG made them glow red in the mist at the brink of the explored part of the Atlas. Make a bee line to the closest tower that will affect the corrupted region. Then "juice", i.e. craft some affixes on, your Tier 1 Waystones with an Orb of Alchemy and two Exalted orbs. You can use an Omen of Greater Exaltation as well if you have one and you think it makes sense. Through your juiced to the gills way stone access the tower and activate the precursor beacon. Don't worry, Tier 1 maps are level 67 at maximum. You are overpowered as shit on them. What I am telling you to do here is to apply politician reasoning to the requirements GGG has put in place for getting 3 precursor tablet slots. As only 6 affixes are necessary and no high-level corrupted rare waystones are needed for this, you can jew the game with Tier 1 waystones. Now that your first tower is liberated, open the official trade website... Fine. Here it is, retard: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Dawn%20of%20the%20Hunt Now seek out these: _________________________________________________________ | Elevated Precursor Tablet of the Bulge | | ------ | | Tablet | | ------ | | Item Level: 75 | | ----- | | 16 (or something) Maps in Range are Irradiated | | ----- | | 10% increased Experience gain in your Maps | | you are gay (i.e. it doesn't matter what | | affix you get here) | --------------------------------------------------------- ________________________________________________________ | Elevated Precursor Tablet of Julay | | ------ | | Tablet | | ------ | | Item Level: 75 | | ----- | | (about )12 Maps in Range are Irradiated | | ----- | | 10% increased Experience gain in your Maps | | Magic monsters also have autism | --------------------------------------------------------- _____________________________________________________________ | Forgotten By Time | | Expedition Precursor Tablet | | ------ | | Tablet | | ------ | | Item Level: 80 | | ----- | | (like) 13 Maps in Range contain Expedition Encounters | | ----- | | Expedition Monsters in your Maps spawn with half of | | their Life missing | | Runic Monsters in your Maps are Duplicated | ------------------------------------------------------------- In short you need 2 precursor tablets with 10% more experience gain and 1 Forgotten By Time that you gonna use to refinance your leveling experience, as you will creep towards more towers to liberalte and then juice with the a similar trio of tablets. Price for each tower is up to 60 Exalted orbs, usually like 45. This is partly why I have allocated all those strong box nodes for this. The other reason is, strong boxes generate another group of monsters on activation. If you can't get Forgotten by Time, try an Overseer Tablet with Boss grants more #% experience. This will at least make up for the XP from the expedition sites you'll miss out. [3.0] The grind as such 💣 I also assume you know most mechanics the game is throwing at people. If you don't fucking know, I suggest you to either learn about them from the official wiki or at least go to youloose and look up a video featuring some hyperactive info gypsy* sitting in faggot colored LED gamer™ lighting spastically talking about them. You don't want to do all the maps immediatly. Oh no, no, no. That would be extremely stupid and also homersex. Instead you want to snake yourself to any Tower in the region. To be specific, you want to get every tower surrounding the corrupted region and slam your juice into them before you grind inside the corruption itself. For routing to these towers, prefearbly do irradiated maps with expedition encounters. These are your easy to access equivalent to red Tier 16 maps in PoE 1 (with Expedition Atlas tree. Duh!). The expedition encounters grant you a mongolian horde of runic monsters than give you a lot XP if you do everything right. As for the Waystones, no crazy shit at the expedition sides. By this I mean no remnants that deactivate your main source of defence or main source of damage. Last one is pretty **fun** for GGG for picking such a modifier makes all the runic monsters you have to deal with immortal against you. Strongboxes are also straight forward. Pack in your transmutation, a augmentation, regal and alchemy orbs before entering the map and then look for any Researcher's, large or ornate strongbox. Ignore every other type. I never had made much money with these. I am not good at hawking stuff on the player driven market and so are probably you. If you find one, either identify it if it is already blue or yellow or juice it. Alch(emy orb) and go is perfectly viable for white ones. If you are poor, transumute, augment and then coronate with a regal. Any more fishing for affixes usually only makes them more dangerous or gives you goofy useless shit like guranteed trial tokens. If you get "casts volatile crags", consider cutting your losses and skip that strongbox. This affix makes it cast endless fireballs that will follow through the entire map and explode as soon as you stop. They are extremely difficult to deal with and can kill you way too often which then leads to deleveling. After you're done with a map, put the currency you don't need in your stash and sell the artifacts and expedition logbooks. The artifacts can be exchanged through Alva on the currency exchange pretty easily. Prices may vary, because the player driven market is speculative as shit. They are in general from most valuable to most worthless: Exotic Coinage, Black Scythe, Sun, Chalice and Broken Circle. Either pocket the income from the sales or buy 1 Omen of Amelioration. Dying while leveling costs money (especially when you suck ass) and the relics should yield enough pretty stones to finance your buffoonery. Either put the logbooks on the open market or go travel Ziggurat Refuge and press J to look for somebody who buys them. Good luck with selling these. * Deragotory term for greedy influencers with staff who spew bullshit all day some Slav came up with. [3.1] Results Oh yes. What do you get from doing all this goofy nonsense? Assuming the pressence of an expedition encounter, 3.5% progress per regular map. 5% on each irradiated map. Iradiated corrupted maps even give you around 10% progress. Not bad at all. Profits varies between Expedition NPCs. I got about 12 Exalted orbs on average for Expeditions led by Tujen (the ugly crippled dwarf) plus up to 5 for rare monsters and Researcher's strong boxes. One Expedition even dropped an Divine orb for me. Don't count on that, what matters that this strategy pushes the necessary number of maps needed for an level up down from insane 50 to about 8 or 12. All progress was measured in the early 90s. Keep in mind that XP gain diminishes with each level. [4.0] Most anticipated questions > Path of Exile 2 has many other leagues besides Strongboxes and Expedition. What about them? Sure you can do Azmeri spirits or Essences if your build can quickly spike the trapped rare monsters to death straight after shattering. Maybe you can try your luck with Rogue Exiles or do Delirium like most other leveling Strategies suggest. Ritual... eh way too deadly for most builds. Concerning Breaches: GGG intends to buff them in ways that would be ideal for leveling as of writing, but I won't ( or didn't) hold my breath for a miracle that would make them spew out an insane amount of monsters. It would tank the price for breach splinters (which was extremely low already at the time this guide had been written). Concerning the other leagues; Nigger, the loot fucking sucks. I have most Azmeri spirit nodes allocated and it took me like a month of extreme pathological playing until I got an expensive Talisman that got me like 1300 Exalted orbs (that was like 6.5 Divine orbs). The chance of getting an high ticket item that sells for crazy prices are so extremely low, that most leagues are irrelevant for normal gameplay. > Your strategy relies on Expedition. Why don't you recommend using a normal expedition Tablet with 10% more experience gain instead of > Forgotten by time or an Overseer tablet? First because Runic monsters are extremely dangerous as they are. Forgotten by Time makes farming them for XP and relics way easier. Number two, access to many irradiated maps is more important. Keep in mind that the problem this leveling strategy deals with is the game starving players out of XP by cutting off the natural maximum level of maps at 79 instead of 80. > Why don't you recommend using Tier 16 Waystones? You don't even mention them in your Strategy. Because the only way to get them is corrupting Tier 15 waystones. That literally costs money. Vaal orbs to be specific. Their behavior is not the most predictable thing in the game. What most likely happens is your Way stone simple becomes corrupted. Badabing, no more crafting. Sometimes they randomly rise in rarerity and get additional affixes, randomly recraft all affixes. Or maybe they level down to 14 or up to Tier 16. The last outcome is so rare, that crafting Tier 16 is stupidly expensive. It isn't even worth the effort.
